    Hey im Mike im new to the forum. My gun knowledge doesn't go past Call of Duty so im here looking to learn a thing or two. Recently bought a house and with a 3 year old I feel like its the perfect time to buy a gun.

    Welcome. I don't have the experience that most have here, but I suggest you purchase a proper safe when you buy that first firearm.

    First off buy as large of a gun safe as you can afford. If it says it holds 16 long guns, it actually holds 8-10.

    Second, support the IP's on MDS. The IP's keep the lights on, so the forum is free and free of advertising.

    Third, take an NRA Basic Pistol/Rifle class, so you can become familiar with firearms, in a safe manner.

    Fourth, attend a meetup sometime, so you can meet your crazy friends.

    Fifth, watch out for the Bronies, rainbows, the doc, thumper, and mall ninjas.
