No, not pissed. Just thought it was odd. Even Facebook offers a way to delete an account (although they don't make it easy). I'm pretty certain that MDS uses an updated version of a mountain biking forum I ran and I'm pretty certain we could delete accounts. Again, not looking to get banned, just think it's weird.

I work on several Vb forums and no, we generally do not allow deletion of accounts. We just say leave and don't sign back in.. LOL

Watching people self destruct is one of the benefits of not using the ignore feature.

not using the ignore feature has allowed me hours of entertainment from the best 3%er out there... SOMDSHOOT :lol2:

it's the internets don't sweat it and surround yourself with good peeps... even Clandestine somewhat grows on you.

hmm. I've not checked here. If the delete option doesn't have a time limit, I've watched the occasional talk about really disaffected forum members going back and deleting all posts one by one for no other affect than reducing the total posts of the forum. I always considered changing my avatar to a locked gate when I left but really no one cared if I was gone. If you're not posting, no one sees you to think you're gone.

Im not sure what the purpose of the thread is. Norton would have answered this via P.M.

Yes, a name change would be useful. That shouldn't foul up the works. Or even changing ones name to Guest upon request.

Again, I'm not looking to delete my account. But before the Snallygaster beer fest began, a Google search on the term turned up plenty of personal identifiers - so I think there are valid reasons for wanting a name change or deletion. Without going into detail, but as an example, my participation on MDS came up in a conversation in relation to an advisory role with Maryland's venture capital authority.
