Thinking about getting one for my M1a and read that CA and NY has banned them. Anyone know if these are ok in Maryland.

They're fine. The problem in CA and NY is that it has a pistol grip of sorts, which makes it fail the feature test in those states. Pistol grip is not a feature in MD.
