I am building 2 ar-15 rifles and one I am thinking either 300 black out or 6.8. It will be a 16" barrel. So what are the pros and cons of both?

    300 BLKOUT PRO'S

ALL but the barrel are AR-15 parts
    Great for subsonic rounds

    300 BLKOUT CON'S

    limited supersonic performance (case size)

    6.8 PRO'S

    Better supersonic performance

    6.8 CON'S

requires mags, bolt, and specific barrel
slightly more limited bullet selection (.270 vs .308)

I thought that with 300 blackout a pistol gas system helps with subsonic but horrible for super sonic and carbine is better for super and ok for sub.

If the price comes down on 300 I think it will really gain ground. As a new person to firearms on a budget I like that I can have access to two calibers on one platform. It def is something to consider as well as what type of shooting your looking to do.

No, the pistol has system is excellent for supersonic. You are thinking of barrels where the manufacturer made the gas port too large.
