    Air rifles have come a long way since the original Crosman 760.. LOL

    Even that doesn't look anything like what we grew up with... :lol2:

    Why not just use a .22LR then?

    This. My Savage FV-SR with a TAC-65 (rebuilt) and Subsonic ammo is quieter than any airgun I have ever shot. You hear the click of the firing pin dropping and the impact of the bullet. That's it.

    I can understand money is an issue but, if you ever go the .22 route get a CZ 452 UL. With that 28" barrel it's quieter than most air guns I've heard and way more accurate. And more killing power.
