Matt won the recent primary handily despite fairly strong opposition from multiple opponents.

He is a true conservative, not just a RINO.

Please check-out his website here. We need ALL conservative voters (conservative Republicans, conservative Democrats, and conservative Independents) in southern Maryland to get up off of the couch and VOTE. If at all possible, we also need you-all to volunteer, and donate, and write letters to the editor in local papers.

Thanks for helping in the fight!

P.S. I know that a lotta you just want to move out of this state and escape the tyranny of the liberal Democratic machine in Annapolis. But until you can do that, please help us fight against that evil machine and at least try to recover some of our rights in this state.

His opponent, Dan Slade, is a Second Amendment Supporter.

Most likely, only until he gets elected, then the Democratic leadership will put him on a short leash so he can try to get plum committee assignments. Then he will toe their line, including whatever they want to do legislatively on 2A. Matt Morgan is the man for the job.

What makes you think he is a 2A supporter? I didn't find anything on either of the two referenced links to lead me to believe he supports the 2A. Did I miss something?

Because I asked him. Southern Maryland democrats are not like Baltimore City Democrats.

    His party is not

That may be true but the Southern Maryland Democrats have all supported the 2A.

Gave me a laugh too! May want to check into Mike Miller a bit and see what support he offered the 2a.

    That rat bastard...

I agree that Mike Miller is joke, but maybe I should have been more geographically clear. St Mary's County Democrats are for the 2A. You will also find they voted against the bathroom bill. I don't count North Calvert as Southern Maryland. Not sure I would include North Charles either.

You're still wrong. What has john bohannon done other than tow the party line and "vote" to support us after party leadership already has their votes locked up? Did he speak out at all about the thousands of calls he received? Or how about Mac Middleton? He did a lot of good for us last year. I find nobody who fits your description except Johnny wood. Who is not running again. So please, by name, tell me what dem in SOMD has done anything to help us.

Maybe he is talking about the county level reps because all of the state levels reps definitely don't fit his description.

That may be true but the Southern Maryland Democrats have all supported the 2A.

After reviewing Bohanan's voting record on the amendments for SB-281, his rating by the NRA, and several face to face meetings with him, I am still adamant that he is no friend to the 2A. Where were all these Pro-2A Dems when we were standing in the cold on lawyers square in Annapolis? They sure as hell were not standing outside with us in support of the 2A then. Bohanan talks a good game but his follow-through is LAME. On the other hand Tony O'Donnell was right there with us. Check Tony's voting record on SB-281 and his NRA rating. John Wood and John Bohanan were absent when we were standing in the cold. Even after the passage of SB-281 those two were not showing any solidarity for the 2A. They were absent during the 2014 Pro-2A rally, while Matt Morgan and Deb Rey were on deck in lawyers square.

I reviewed Matt Morgan’s web page. These are some of my thoughts.

No college degree! Seems to be satisfied that college was not for him, College is not what you know, it’s that you have he drive to accomplish a task.

Realtor - most of them have difficulty working for someone else. (A generalization of course)

Opposes Same Sex Marriage - sounds like big government to me in the bedroom.

Over-burdensome energy regulations - our power (electric) is cheap in Southern Maryland..

Fully agree with the facts about government growth and spending, lack of competiveness, etc., but what's the plan? Tell me you want to cut.

Agree pensions should not be raided. But need a plan to get funding elsewhere or cut spending. See above.

Cutting income taxes cuts services. Which services does he want to cut?

Government does create jobs. I have one. So does he. He is an IT guy for a semi government organization of a college. Defense creates jobs. So does infrastructure improvements. Blanket statement is clearly wrong, but I agree that there is too much spending in some areas, but not enough in others, like infrastructure.

I don't know if reducing the corporate income taxes will do anything or not. I'd like to hear an explanation from an economist, not a college dropout. In the news, I've seem reputable people debating both sides.

Cut pass through taxes for LLCs'. Taxes are at the personal rate, not the business rate. I think he is uninformed on the LLC business form. I do think $300 a year for an LLC renewal is ridiculous.

Minimum wage - I'd like to see it go up, but again, would like to see an educated explanation.

Education choice is already there. The problem is that people want to have all choices for free. Public education is free, charter schools may work, but the studies are inconclusive. You can select a private school at your own cost or home school. Should I be able to play at Peeble Beach at the cost of a municipal course? It’s a entitlement mentality with government services.

Concur with 2A concerns. But I think given the choice between two candidates that have the same position on issues, a Democrat has a better chance in making change. A Republican will just be ignored.

Adequate resources” for the aging population, children, and working population” are socialist agenda words. That's not very "Free Market." Sounds like a Democrat here!

Inheritance taxes are already low. You can inherit millions before paying a single dime in taxes. Proper estate planning avoids this tax if you were fortunate to inherit millions!

Sufficient and convenient transportation. Again, sounds like a liberal Democrat from Baltimore. Those are big government words.

Not sure his transportation analysis is the full story. He may have the numbers right, but there are other considerations. I imagine St. Mary's county gets less is because St. Mary's has chosen not to participate in infrastructure improvements. So, the government puts it where needed. Shortly, if the 301 or rte 4 bridge get build, the numbers may come back. I need to do some research on this. (St. Mary's sits on lots of wealth. Why should the state pay, if the county won't)

This is the same routine you pulled on the Deb Rey post, "Not An Outlaw."

It's pretty clear that you're a troll for the Dems.

    Lame. Just lame.

Slade was driving through the neighborhood earlier. Nice enough guy. I'd like to think his position on SB281 and 2A in general was true but being a D and knowing he'll have to follow the party line once up there is enough to not get my vote.
