Keep an eye on Walmart for these too. They carry them and I don't think for much more.

These take Remington 870 extension tubes, too, if you want more firepower. Barrels are NOT interchangeable.
I was there a week ago and asked them about an AR purchase...the guy said it was Cash & Carry except for the magazine would not be included, due to it's 30 round capacity, which is a moot point in a 5 round capacity shotgun...
Looks like a nice deal.

Tyler's usually stocks a Hawk 981 for $200, very similar and I understand made in the same Chinese factory as the Pardner. With fees, gas & driving time factored in, might be worth checking out. The Hawks have a rounded shape at the rear of the receiver like an 870 does; Pardners have a sort of hump shape similar to but less pronounced than a Browning Auto 5. Both have the barrel lug further forward than an 870 so barrels are not interchangeable, but most other 870 parts are. Good value shotguns built like tanks, with no sintered metal or plastic parts other than stock, forend, and magazine follower (unlike 870 express).
