Say at 10.2", the Noveske is about 21 ounces. How light and expensive would a carbon fiber wrapped pencil barrel be at the same length?

    Any special considerations?

Wouldn't a 9mm in this length be just as good under 100 yards and quieter (both being subsonic)?

    Just curious.

The 9mm would be quieter, but the .300 BLK would hit much harder. Same velocity, 50% more weight.

THIS and 9mm AR require heavier bolts, buffers, and a mag block. So if you want lightweight a 9mm AR is not a good choice. My 4.5" AR is a beast weight wise.

So is my 5.5" 9mm sbr. 9mm AR's are definitely not light weights.

Low 900's over a chrono using around 11.2 grains of 1680 with 220 smk. Same results using factory 220 rem subs. I will be picking up a Templar Tactical Ark30 so see if it's any better but I think the powder is not getting burned completely. From what I'm reading velocity should be a touch higher with that charge weight.

Have you thought about switching powders? If you are shooting subs exclusively with a can you should be able to get away with some quicker (and quieter) powders. 1680 works with subs, but it's loud. We've been able to get 296/H110 and 300MP to work reliably with subs through a can. All are quieter than 1680. I have some 5744 to try next go around.

1680 is the only powder I have used. I have some h110 and I'll give it a try. Thanks!

    I could swear my 4.5" 9mm weight 20 pounds.

It's not the length, it's the girth. :innocent0
