I can't find an official weight of Pardus stocks compared to Magpul stocks. I'm trying to cut down on the weight of my 7LB rifle (has a Pardus stock), but need to know if using a Magpul stock and grip is the answer.

This guy at AR15 says the pardus weighs .785 lbs which is over 12oz.

Don't forget about battlelink! Their Minimalist stock weighs under 6oz.

Hogue also makes an AR15 stock, similar to the Magpul MOE that weighs in at 6.8oz

"Weight (lack of) towards the end of the barrel is what matters most (leverage multiplication). "

+1 ^^^ ... handling quality. Some like it a little heavier, some lighter. I use a collapsible stock with a shortened Colt HBAR and put lead shot in the battery tunnels of the stock to change feel. Makes a huge difference.

Looking at total weight to bug out...if that would be an option, ounces here and there do equal pounds. Looking at the total picture would be prudent.

Not an ounce Nazi here, I figure if an ounce or two is going to make me or break me, I'll lift more.

Adding to that thought, if overall weight is so critical, then the first place to start is with 10-round or 5-round mags. Full 20-round and 30-round mags aren't exactly light.
