No, Baltimore City is NOT paradise by any measure.

I do drive through the Paradise Lane/Maiden Choice Lane area fairly often though, if that's what you mean area wise.

It was partly a joke. The neighborhood on Frederick Rd just east of 695 is named Paradise.

I picked up on it lol. It quickly starts becoming not Paradise the farther east you go on Frederick Road though (Irvington). There is an old school hardware store and a liquor store that I go to fairly often between Paradise Lane and Prospect Road.

I figured it might be hard to get quotes because technically I'm in west Baltimore... but I usually say east Catonsville to not worry people.

    Holding the line in Baltimore
I was in this boat a year ago. Had a 3' rise or so of brickwork up to a 4' x 4' landing of solid concrete slab. Property was sinking to one side, porch with it. It was beyond repair.

The cost to replace the porch was well over $10K from various bricklayers.

I went with treated supports clad with composite decking. Way cheaper. Whether this is worth it or not depends on what you are replacing and how many years you expect to get out of it. The haul-away cost of the old materials was expensive regardless.

I lived in Paradise for over 30 year near the church and just left a couple years ago. I loved living there but it's getting bad now. I remember back in the early 90's after 8pm it was like Catonsville shut down and you would not see a car on Fredrick rd. Nowadays it's like Fredrick rd is 95 with all the traffic.

I sent you a PM on the 14th. You must not want quotes to bad you have not responded.

Sorry, I'm trying to figure out how much money I'm going to have left to get this done. I have a couple other jobs that are going to be done first so I have to get those finalized. Roof and related work is going to be a lot more than I had anticipated so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this or not yet.

Yea, I understand, it unbelievable how much roof work has gone up in the last ten years. Guy up the road here just had a quote for a small rancher, $6500.00.
