Got an email today for a Glock 1777 but I think someone is playing a joke...

That G1777 is so primitive. :)

Hmm, so they're going to make a "Glock 40" and it's going to be chambered in 9mm? That's not going to confuse the piss out of less gun savvy people or anything.

After digging some more it sounds like they removed the post because there are 2 possible model numbers for it. I agree 40 would confuse a lot of people.

    This just in......

The new Glock single stack will be called Glock 7. (It holds half what a G17 holds.) "It costs more than you make in a month."

    I just bought this today.
Can't wait to send some rounds down range. Special Glock covert black label pricing purchase.

The Glock 40 is a long slide 10MM. It is already on distributor sites. I have not seen any actual proof of a single stack 9 coming to market.

I wonder who the market is. Are they thinking about tactical teams or handgun hunters.

I'm not sure when they plan on doing a single stack 9mm. But I think they'd be crazy not to. But then again when you own over half the police market and much of the commercial market in the country I guess you can pretty much do what you want and still make money. I think Glock also had a bad experience with the 36, their single stack .45. While I always thought it was a fine gun I've heard a lot of others refer to it as "Glock's only mistake." I don't think it's ever been a good seller for them.

The glock 36 is as big as the glock 19. IMO the glock 36 was a bad idea, it didn't fit any roll properly. I'm sure they'll come out with a single stack 9mm but I wouldn't hold my breath for one. I'm guessing the new .380 glock was more of a "test" to see if they could sell a slim single stack.

The G36 issue has been rectified by its role in the development of the G30s which is an AWESOME gun and actually a wee bit smaller than my G19. I still want a Glock single stack 9mm though.

For competition shooters and hunters, Glock is introducing three pistols with the new Modular Optic System (MOS). A section of the slide, near the rear sight, can be removed to make room for one of a set of base plates, provided with the pistol, for attaching one of several popular reflex optics. The three Glock MOS models that will be available 2015 will include the

    Practical Tactical Gen 4 G34 (9 mm),

    Gen 4 G35 (.40 S&W),

    and the new long-slide Gen 4 G40 (10mm).
