I wear them every day. Tommy Hilfiger and Polo. Only patterned shirts. Never with a tie. Hit the Lancaster outlets and they are cheap.

    Sgt Preston here...

I'm a generation older than most of you at 69+...

And I was professionally employed as a Machine & Tooling Design Engineer during my 44 year working career...

So I spent my entire career wearing button down shirts & ties & polished leather shoes to work every day...

Long sleeves in the winter & short sleeves in the summer...

Casual Fridays = Khaki's & Collared Golf Shirts only started a few years before I retired...

So I still have a closet full of button down shirts with "preppy" ties that I don't wear too often...

I never wear a tie these days, but do wear my starched button down shirts when Barbara & I go out socially...

    The times have changed...

Wear button down 5.11 shirts all the time. I like the fake buttons so you can take off the shirt in a hurry and the internal pockets rock for a cell phone.

It's either short sleeve button down or a polo with jeans/khakis all summer. I'm doing it wrong? :(

    Oh, and never a tie.

I were short sleeve button downs almost daily for work but never a tie. I find they hide my fat better than a Polo type shirt. I like the pocket as well to store my Blue Tooth while not using it. Am I a nerd? Nope, just a salesman.

Collared button down meets work dress code; pocket stores cigarettes and to top it off there's no badass sweating like a long sleeve.
