Cool thread. Bummer that all my stuff is in boxes due to a remodel. I've got a bunch of cutting tools, ax heads and arrow heads that my dad and I collected in AZ (on *ahem* private land). The cool thing with Western stuff is the prevalence of quartz, red flint and obsidian. I spent many, many Saturdays stumbling through the desert looking down.....

great thread! I'll have to post a pic of mine if I can find them. I've found 2 or 3 over the years, the best one being a longer spear head behind my grandparent's place in MoCo.

You guys now have me wondering where my grandfather's ended up after he passed away, he had a decent sized amount he found over the years...I'll have to see if my grandmother knows if where they are.

Authentic arrowheads can be worth a good bit of money to collectors.
It's best when you write on the artifact the location it was found, collectors like to know this and will pay more. I've seen some larger spear points selling for hundreds of dollars. Some of the best of the best can sell for thousands but they are very rare and hard to find. Even small perfect ones can be worth $20 or more depending on how nicely made it is.

Not from MD and not an arrowhead

This is a piece of petrified wood I found while "out in the field" in an undisclosed desert location. It had been worked into a hand scraper type of tool.

So, do I get double credit for this since it's both a fossil and an ancient hand tool?

Some of my collection. All picked up in Charles County over a few decades.

It's not a genuine artifact but still has a cool factor to it.

A few pictures from my collection that were picked up on my families tobacco farm in Southern Maryland over many years. My collection is from finds by my Grandfather, Father, Godfather, and myself off of the same couple hundred acres on the Zenith Swamp.
