I have a relative who is involved with state government and he has always said that Cummings is "dumber than dirt" He represents Howard County along with Baltimore City. How much time do you think he spends in Howard County?

It continued: "We believe that Rep Cummings' actions have violated the House rules, represent an abuse of power on his part and are unethical and arrogant."

I heard that testimony on my way home. And his rebuttal was a stammering BS line about his mom being worried that "their people" would lose their right to vote in her lifetime. He totally changed the focal point and rambled on about nonsense trying to difuse the well thought out and delivered attack by Catherine E. The facts she laid out are pretty hard to ignore IMO. This shit has got to stop!!!

His office is in Howard County, Ellicott City.

A better question is how much time does he spend in the city? Why isn't his office there, where the majority of his area is?

How about he moves his office to Gwynns Falls or Walbrook Junction? He wouldn't last five minutes there. The "locals" would tear him up.

He also has an office in Catonsville on Frederick Rd. by the firehouse.

I live in Ellicott City (until my parole date) and thanks to Glendening's gerrymandering, my representation changed from Roscoe Bartlett to Cummings. How can an inner city black man represent my interests??? He is entrenched and unbeatable as the bulk of his base is west Baltimore and the neighboring suburban 'hoods. The only way we get rid of him is if he dies or gets indicted for something big. But alas, there will most assuredly be another just like him, if not worse, to replace him. You can't win. :mad54:

He has an office in the city too, on Park Ave. a few blocks from the State office complex. Lot's of congress critters have multiple offices in their districts.

First rule of politics - answer the question you wanted asked, not the one you were asked...

I am in western HoCo and definitely feel disenfranchised at the federal level...I certainly don't have a representative voice in line with my values in Congress.

EC actually helped me get a machine gun. His staffer unstuck something for me at the ATF. It was funny - I could really hear the pain in his staffers voice when he asked me for the make, model, serial and caliber.

He said that he "didn't deal with the ATF much."

I faxed a thank you letter as the staffer really did his job - my F4 was approved later the same day after 8 months of mismanagement. The staffer even called me back at work and confirmed it a few hours after I first called him. Cummings saw my fax and actually called me back at home on that Sunday afternoon. I hate to say it - but EC was actually a really nice fellow. I was polite and courteous to my rep (I don't live in his district anymore), and thanked his office for the assist. He thanked me for the letter for his staffer and said it would help him in the future and said I should not hesitate to contact him in the future if I ever needed any help. Quid pro quo I thought at the time.

Don't get me wrong - I expect my elected officials to do this. I did not vote for him and I did not support him because his views are too far away from mine.. both before and after this help. But ... Cummings office did help with my first NFA transfer back in 2004, so I have to give props for his staff helping the process along and following the law, even if he doesn't believe it in. Take it for what it is worth, but this is story is 100% true.
