An OK deal in case anyone is interested. The flare guns can be entertaining as there are a large number of flares available and inserts (for pistol* and .410* ammo and 12GA marine flares) are also available. The mount looks somewhat beastly though.

Weirdest package item choice I've ever seen. Bought one anyway. Thanks for the tip!

But isn't the flare gun considered a handgun in the state of Maryland?

    Just saying!

I really just intended to buy the flare gun for a novelty item. But now I'm wondering. If the 410 adapter is installed, what kind of weapon does it become? An AOW, SBS, pistol, what the heck would it be?

    It would be perfectly legal.

I think it becomes a short barreled shotgun? No? Violating the AOL of a shotgun I suspect. Putting one of the pistol caliber inserts (there are a few out there) and you need to do, I think, a Form 1 (?) since you made a firearm. I have the 12ga insert for these and it's designed to convert the 26mm launcher to handle the standard 12ga marine flares. There are folks, as you can see on youtube, put low powered 12 ga rounds in them. A bit risky in my eyes.

maybe package is not so weird?

Received my fabulous 3 item package from Centerfire today. Of course after admiring it for a few minutes my imagination started working and I realized that perhaps it is not so weird after all. Add a pistol scope or red dot sight, .22 caliber conversion tube, and a little bit of welding or maybe a couple hose clamps, and you have one mean looking single shot .22 tacticool pistol of questionably legality... :)
