    I'm confused - I thought that, as a handgun owner prior to 10/1/13, I was exempt from the HQL training requirement. I'm trying to complete the "Training Exempt" form, and it's still asking me to select which training exempts me even though I already completed the part in which I list a firearm purchase. I was going to call MSP, but I figured one of you has to have gone through this already...

    Nate is right. BTW, the law only states that you need to own a regulated firearm, not that you must have owned it prior to 10-1-13 to be training exempt.
