Not much of a "collection", but it's a 1903 Springfield built about 1918 that my Grandfather had turned into a hunting rifle. My mom didn't remember what year, but remembered going with him to pick it up after it was done, so I'm guessing sometime in the 50's. Note the handy compass in the stock!

And before you all start asking: THE SCOPE IS NOT FOR SALE!!!!

Does it have a thing that tells time?:lol2:

That's an awesome 03. I love the military versions and have started looking for a real nice sporter to round out the collection.

My favorite is in my sig.

That is awesome, I have always had a sweet spot for those but its one of few military rifles I like sporterized like that as much as the original, as a hunting rifle how would you say that stacks up against a remington 700 or one of the equivalent savage rifles? does the barrel heat up alot when your zero it and shoot it at the range? and how does it feel on your shoulder after a few boxes of ammo?

The VLS is no longer in my collection but this is a good pic of the Tikka 22-250 and the Ruger compact .308

Just picked them up from Brian and Justin at BTP Arms / KeepShooting this week. One to shoot one for my collection that's getting off the ground with these and a WASR-10 AK-47 that was begging for a new home sometime ago...

I'll post some better pics this weekend.

    Shoot straight!

    Mosin-Nagant M91/30 7.62x54R times 2
    WASR-10 AK-47 7.62x39
    Next...?? Maybe a .22LR or a lager
    caliber revolver

Thanks guys for all the good comments: I have to admit it's been in my Dad's closet for years, I got it a few years ago and never shot it until early last fall. So I've only put 20 rounds though it, but I loved it! I'm looking forward to shooting more in the spring. And I've got my eye open to add one of those things that tell time. :)

Thanks for my daily dose of depression guys...:( think I'm gonna go stroke the 3 rifles in my dwindling collection before I find a belt, and the sturdiest ceiling fan I have...

Don't be bummed out or envious, some of us have been doing this actively in excess of 40 years, some longer than that. My first (real) gun, which I still have, was received in 1966 and I've been at it since then...
