    Lock up a gun?
    What has it done wrong?

I have no children in my house. Ever. The large majority of the guns in my house are in the gun safe, for their protection. There are several that are out of sight, loaded, and ready to go, for my protection.

What type of rifle? What works on one kind of rifle won't work well on another.

For example trigger locks are piss poor on AR-15s (hinged trigger guard negates it) and lever actions.

However cable locks works well on both those type of rifles. For the AR run it through the ejection port and down the magwell. For the lever action wrap it around the handgrip and through the lever a few times.
