    Glock 17 through GSSF.

    $35 membership fee. $425 G17. transfer fee ?

Another +1 for the GSSF. If you live anywhere near Lawman Supply in Clinton or the Cop Shop in Baltimore you can buy the gun directly from them without any shipping or transfer fees.

Alright, bringin back the dead thread now a little, but after debating, and trying, and searching, got a new glock 19, gen 4, kinda cool that it's only been approved for like two weeks.

Paid for today, now the wait begins...

    Zombie thread...

Just thought I'd mention, a good year after me saying I had a thing for the fnp-9... I bought one, and love it.

Without a doubt get the S&W M&P9. You will not be sorry. Great gun, great price. Do a search on here and you will see how happy all the owners are on this site.

$478 incl shipping right now at Bud's

    +1

I just purchased a M&P 40 locally from The Gun Shop at a great price. If you decide you don't like the feel of the M&P 40, consider an XDM.

EDIT: Never mind, I see you got the Glock. Well, congrats just the same!

I'll second the FNP 9. I have an FNP 40, and prefer shooting it over my Sig. I have shot both the FNP 9 and FNX 9 both are good pistols. The S&W M&P series are good pistols too, have shot the full size and compacts chambered in 9 and 40, very nice. For the money they are a decent pistol.

Can't say enough good about "my"(ask my wife:o...) new to me Ruger P95. The wife shot it well, and so did stepson #2. No bobble in 100 rds of mixed(my faux test) Wolf(steel case) and Federal 115 grain FMJ.

But I just realized, I am a Ruger "fanboy", going for a trifecta, or more:innocent0:rolleyes:...

Steyr m9-a1 because of the way the gun is built it reduces recoil.

So, while he loves a gun like a 1911, the bones aren't the strongest around anymore, so a 9mm would probably be the best. Gonna be more for target and range shooting, so a full sized would be preferable to a carry size.

    It sounds like he'd like a 9mm 1911.
