Savage model 16 help

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on the savage model 16? I have a chance to pick one up cheap. Are they as good as the model 10? Accurate? The one in question is a 22-250 and I want it but I wold like to know more about them.

I believe the 16 is the same action as the 10, but in stainless. A co-worker has the 116 (long action stainless) in 25-06 and it's very consistent.

If it's not accurate, slap a VERY accurate aftermarket barrel on it #barrelnutrules

I have a Savage 116 left hand in 30-06 and absolutely love it. I can keep a group to 1 1/2 inches or less at 200 yards with 150 grain Remington Corelokt ammo. I will probably be getting a Savage 16 in 243 or 223 real soon.

Definitely make sure you have a good idea of how many rounds have been thru it.

22-250 isn't exactly easy on barrels.

*Although changing the barrel isn't a truly hateful job, if you have the proper tools.
