Shooting a floating target at sea IS tricky. My strategy was when the target and your vessel are at the, or near the apex of a swell. Twin mount heavy barrel m-2s were my specialty. As for ammo..........we used anti-aircraft, every fourth round was a solid AP round, the rest either exploded on contact or were tracers (HEIs or HETs).
