    Welcome aboard wvuguy. Folks that list Garrett County as their location tend to catch the attention of some of us who live in GC. You might want to intro yourself on the Introductions section.

    What others have posted is correct. MD firearm laws make no sense. An HBAR is really nothing more than a heavy barrel AR upper. But that's where it all begins to get gray. At your age you could legally purchase a complete non-regulated HBAR AR rifle. Any deviations from that config are no can do.

    In a few short years you'll be able to build many different AR configs...

    The Colt HBAR was the Target Version of the AR, years ago when the law was written. Thus the HBAR rule.

    Don't knock it.
