    Holding the line in Baltimore

    Kahr MK9 or Sig P938.

The metal-framed Kahr is over-priced IMO but the cheaper poly CM9 is my favorite pocket pistol and is very Glock-like. Great trigger and handles well for such a tiny gun.

Frankly for a carry pistol I would NOT want a steel or even aluminum frame. The less weight the better, as well as built-in sweat resistance.

    Strictly all-metal guns, then

    For pocket carry:

    Sig P238 (w/ extended mag)
    Colt Govt 380
    Kimber Solo 9mm

    For other than pocket carry:

Kahr K9 Elite 9mm - a little heavy and expensive, but great gun
    CZ 75 Compact 9mm
CZ 75 2075 RAMI 9mm (non poly model)
    Tristar (Canik) C-100 9mm
    Bersa Thunder 380 (single-stack)
    Bersa Thunder 380 Plus (double-stack)
Bersa Thunder 9 (or Firestorm Mini 9 - they are really the same gun)
    Ruger SP101 .357

I personally would chose the P238 over the Colt Mustang because it has the same dimensions as the Mustang (very short, two-finger grip), however, with the extended (1 round) mag, the grip becomes about the same as the Colt Govt model 380. But you still have the option of using regular mags for that really short grip if you desire. I used to own a Colt Mustang Pocketlite but sold it years ago in order to buy my Govt 380 specifically for the slightly longer grip.

My Kimber Solo CDP has been flawless and is an absolute joy to shoot, even with 115 gr ammo which it isn't supposed to like.

All CZs are superb weapons with great reliability.

The TriStar C-100 is a CZ Compact clone, made in the same factory in Turkey. I just purchased mine for $315 on gunbroker and it has the same fit-&-finish as my CZs, but the trigger is absolutely phenomenal and the all-alloy gun is actually lighter than the CZ 75 Compact PCR.

I personally own all of the above firearms so I am speaking from actual experience.

BTW, I used to own a S&W 637 Airweight Talo .38. I fired 10 rounds through it and turned around and sold it - it was absolutely the most painful firearm I've ever fired. I highly suggest that you fire one before purchasing.

You can do the same thing on the current Pocketlite. Standard mags are flush with the bottom, but they offer extended mags with a finger grip.

This man has it. I agree with the above. I took out those I was not familiar with and would add the Sig 938.

HK P7 PSP or M8 in 9mm luger. These are definitely a love it or hate it style but I am firmly in the love it camp.

Walther PPK in .380. Mine is stainless so a lot of weight for its size. Hollowpoint feed issues were sorted out through polishing and ammo selection. Its a early 90s Interarms rather than the later S&W. Looking to add a 7.65mm at some point.
