    Howdy,

I wanted to change the trigger pull on my Browning A-Bolt II. Factory setting is supposed to 3 pounds to 6.5 pounds. When adjusted down, the best I could get out of the trigger was 4.5 pounds and it feels like a 100 pounds when shooting precision.

After some research, I found that Midway USA is selling 2-3 pound springs for 33 dolla plus shipping.

    Not cool.

I pulled the rifle apart to take a look at the spring. My immediate thought was, that looks really familiar.

Sooooooooo, I went and grabbed my AR15 spare parts bin and pulled out a disconnector spring.

It is the same length and diameter as the stock spring, but it has much less resistance.

I installed it with the bell end of the spring against the small fork on the backside of the trigger.

After reassembly, I checked the pull with a Lyman digital trigger scale.

It dropped to 2 pounds and 12 ounces or 2-3/4 pounds. This is an average of 5 pulls.

AR15 disconnector springs cost 3 dolla or a savings of 30 dolla.

    Way cool.

AR15 spring on the left and Browning spring on the right.

Give it a try and remember, if you're not comfortable doing this yourself, hand it over to a Gunsmith.
