...other than the forces of supply/demand why is 7.62x39 brass case so darned expensive?

That is THE reason why it is so expensive. Like others mentioned already, trying to explain the supply/demand side away is like trying to explain why gas prices are so expensive minus the forces of supply and demand.

If you're really going through that much reloading/rebuilding effort to eke better accuracy from steel case Tula 7.63x39, more power to you. Personally I'd be building brass cased ammo on my bench tailored to my firearm instead. To each, his own.

You don't say what type of firearm you're shooting this in. Hopefully your ammo is hitting your targets dead center 9/10 of your shots.

BTW, There's an easier way to pull bullets from Tula ammo => Shoot it.

As mentioned in my post I'm shooting an AR15. And SlingBlade is correct, the main reason i reload the Tula is b/c the range does not allow magnetic projectiles. I would definitely go with brass if I could find it with a .308 bullet rather than .310. I do have plenty of once fired brass cases, and will consider reloading them. But with my current process, I don't have to measure/buy powder, clean cases, or re-prime
