Thinking about buying a New Agent or maybe a 1911 from Colt. Another idea might be to get one of those new 1903 Pockets buy I would prefer blued over parkerized. What local FFLs are Colt dealers?

    We are.

New Agent: COLT- O7810D: Available at distributors.

New Agent: COLT- O7810DCT: Available at distributors.

    Call for pricing.

Get them while you can. Colt is in bankruptcy and instituting harsh new terms on stocking dealers, so a LOT of dealers are just going to refuse to carry them after August.

The SAA's are still in production but are very slow in coming off the line and always backordered. Those are all final fitted and polished by hand and only a couple of the most senior people on the line do them.

Not sure how they will deal with it this time...... Not like they are the only company making 1911's and AR's nowadays....

Easy, they only have to hold on until the next libtard gun grab hits the news. They sales will sky rocket.

S&W was pretty much ready to close the doors, when Clinton went gun grab crazy. But S&W back in the black.

As a consumer, I see Colt needs to get on board with what sells in the market and where the holes in their production is. They are resting on the AR and 1911 market. They haven't made anything new in the 1911 line in eons. Their last Marine 1911 is a copy of virtually any other rail gun out there. And one costs how much? Where do they compete with Mil Spec or Range Officer? Nothing new. Their one and only attempt at a less expensive single action pistol flopped hard.

They could use a good modern revolver series at a reasonable price. Bringing back the King Cobra could be a good start or a totally new series (and stop milking the SAA). Also a good 22 auto pistol and a good centerfire hi-cap nine wouldn't hurt one bit.

Sad, but it seems Colt gave up on civilian guns. Do they even make revolvers anymore? What happened to the Python and the Trooper? And then everyone else took over the 1911 pistols. A Commander would be nice, but I guess you have to scout out the used market. Lucky for me, my father collected a few nice pieces.

The old revolvers take hand fitting for each one. Expensive to make and worse, the craftsmen they need to make them are retiring. And no one coming along behind to do this work.

With everybody and their brother in the AR game Colt had to really cut their prices. As far as revolvers, they are time consuming and expensive to make and the market for them is not that large. But there is still a demand as evidenced by how hard it is to find Smiths.
