OP you might want to wait to see how the TP9 SA shakes out. It’ll have to be added to the roster but Canik seems to have made some decent improvements to it.

First 15 minutes is background on Canik but the TP9 SA info begins ~15:40.

    Mods are basically:
    No DA/SA

    Uses M9 mags now

    Extended the 1913 rail

Barrel lengthened from 4.10" to 4.48"

Replaced the polymer sights for steel (drift adjustable rear)

Improved stippling (guess that was a complaint first go around)

Comes with 2 mags, backstraps, holster, speed loader, cleaning kit, etc.

$399 MSRP, so maybe $350 or so?

I agree. Although they cost more.

That it does. Maybe $50 more but IMHO that’s a lot of extra pistol for the money.

Not affiliated in any way. Just considering one myself. Thought you might want the info (if you didn’t already have it). Good luck with your search.

unfortunately for anyone that was planning to use the m9 mags, thats a feature that was not incorporated. pretty sharp pistol, though.

I don't really look at that as a negative so much. The mecgar 18 rounders are excellent, and the new ones work in the old TP-9.

I'd buy the SA version if someone finds someone (preferably local) that has em.

There may be an issue that the SA has to be added to the roster also. It appears as though there is a different model designation. It would suck if that were the case, though.

Just saw the SA in stock for the first time, so hopefully they show up locally soon too.

Although I guess this means more thumb twiddling while it's added to the roster.
