My wife told me about a class at Gilbert's next weekend. I went to their site and read about it. $250. Really? 5 hours and range fees and ammo not included. There have got to be tons of better options. We live just outside Frederick. Thanks

I won't say better options, since I know nothing about their class. You just have to look around and see what is out there. There's many classes that may teach what you want, and they may be higher or lower priced.
check isaac walton of federick.. they teach nra protection inside the home. nothing but great instructors over there.

Annapolis Defense & Security offers Personal Defense training. It is a layered program (fundamental skills through advanced techniques). There are three courses that total about 12 hours of training, and if desired the practical components can be added to create a hybrid of armed and unarmed training. We use a combination of classroom and practical training. The firearms training is conducted using Simunition and force on force real-world training. The course includes everything that will be needed (ammo, firearms, and safety gear are included in the cost) The Introductory course is cost $75-$87 (unarmed-armed). The personal defense 1-1 and 1-2 are four hour each, mostly practical, to learn and develop techniques and methods practice following training. These programs are $150 and $155 respectively or can be purchased together for $275. These three courses DO NOT have to be taken at once but it is strongly recommended that they be taken in order. We structure the schedule so that it can be completed in as quickly as 2 days and the course dates are published well in advance for planning purposes.
