Forged this axe head awhile ago. High carbon steel laminated bit.

    Very nice work.

A couple years ago after reading up I bought a real axe. Hope to never need it but good to know I have a legit tool in the shed.

Do you do any knives or small hatchet heads?

Care to share? :D Don't need one too often but I'd like to buy once and forget about it so a quality axe is on my want list.

Very nice work! Down to a careful fitting to the handle, looks like that will stay tight. It's nice to see real craftsmanship - now I have to go see what else you've shown us of your work. Shiny pointy things are some of my faves...

if you have a wider angle for your edge grind I wonder if an axe head like that would take to being nitrided?

Whenever I do barrels it's cheaper to do it by lot, so after all the barrels and other paraphernalia are accounted for I always try to throw in some extra stuff to get up to the 50 lbs limit. That's how I got my leatherman melonited, and I couldn't be happier, although the detents are now EXTREMELY stiff- as in once it's locked it stays locked and vice versa, but that's fine with me, I only wish I had had the removable wire cutters done instead of leaving them out for fear of screwing them up.
