Just picked my Dan Wesson Valor up from the guys over at 2A Sales. Can't wait to put some rounds down range! Any other Dan Wesson owners out there?

Yup. I have an RZ 45 and an RZ 10.

Both tack drivers. The RZ 10 is back at DW getting the chamber fluffed and buffed. It had some issues with some hollow points. DW service is top notch.

Picked up a few hollow points for exactly that reason. I want to see how they feed before I start carrying any.

I tried several. All worked but not 100%. I prefer the Underwood 180 XTP at 1300 FPS in my RZ 10. They told me the gun is very tight and sometimes this is an issue. They said they'd have it straightened out and get it back to me.

I have had zero issues with my heritage RZ45. Perfect gun for the money.

Excellent to hear their customer service is good. Hopefully I won't need it but glad to hear if I do they are squared away.

I filled out an online trouble ticket, and the next day they called me and gave me instructions. They e-mailed me a shipping label with an RMA on it. They send me status reports on the progress. They told me up front they wrere backed up and it might be a few weeks. I get weekly updates.

Can't aks for more than that.

Yep, DW ECO and Valor. Looking at a Guardian as a potential next buy.

That Valor is a fine looking weapon. I have an early Pointman Major. I bought it when Dan Wesson was still a mom and pop shop out of New York and Bob Serva was the president. Pre-CZ days. I've replaced the extractor with a Wilson Combat bulletproof extractor and I still have failure to eject issues about once every hundred or so rounds. (yes, the extractor has been tuned). I still like the gun, but it's my only handgun that I wouldn't stake my life on.

Love my specialist. Just got it a couple weeks ago. Couple hundred through it so far and not a single issue.

I grabbed some of the .45 rounds out of the 'FTF can' at hap baker and they even blasted off.

I put a WC shock buff in it, no real difference in feel but gives me some peace of mind even if it does nothing. Still can slingshot it closed no problem.

Only complaint is the ambi safety, but will likely get that fixed and get a threaded barrel from Jarvis.

I had shock buffers in my Kimber a few years ago. Until it disintegrated in the gun and it jammed.

never again in a carry gun.

I'm going to see how they perform and keep an eye on them.

Not carrying this one yet, just started practicing draws with it this weekend. Needs more rounds through it first.

Fwiw the blackhawk cqc serpa holster designed for the colt 1911 fits it. A little tight at first but after some draws it loosens up.

How does your trp compare to the DW? (Other than those terrible front slide serrations :)

My TRP has been 100% problem free since I got it in 2005. I got my DW last November and have taken it to the range 3 times. The first time, I took it out of the box, disassembled it, and put it back, and off to the range. After about 70 rounds of ammo( I can't remember what I shot that time) the slide lock up and I had to send it to DW for repair. They said that the slide galled up. When it came back, I took it to the range and shot 100 rounds of Tula(or Wolf) with 100% reliability. The third time I took it to the range, I shot about 40 rounds of reloads when it started failing to lock the slide(same issue I had on my first outing). I am thinking that this pistol might not like reloads specially during it's break in period. I will be at the range again next Saturday with 100 rounds of WWB and 50 rounds of Wolf(or Tula). No reloads this time.

The DW manual says to shoot between 300-500 rounds of factory ball ammo during break in.

The only issue I had with my RZ 10 was failure to feed JHP 100%. Ball ammo ran through it like a clock.

You gotta be judicial with the lube initially on stainless parts with tight tolerances like modern 1911s.
