I am not sure if this is going to help anyone but I wish I knew this 6 months ago. I would haved saved myself some cash fer sure.

No one, including JD at SSK could or would answer this question. Can you put .300 BLK through a .300 Whisper?

YES! You can fire Remington .300 Blackout ammunition through a .300 Whipser upper.
Put 100's through with no issues whatsoever. Subsonic, supersonic no matter.

    20 rds supersonic Remington .300 BLK $12.00
20 rds supersonic Hornady Whisper $21.00

    20 rds subsonic Remington .300 BLK $21.00
20 rds subsonic Corbon Whipser $38.00

All depends who's chamber it is. There are variations in so called whisper chambers, making some safe and some not. I don't recommend black out through any whisper chamber unless the manufacturer can tell you it is safe with their chamber dimensions

Some implementations of .300 Whisper meet the SAAMI specifications for 300 AAC Blackout.

The max case length of the .300Blk is .018 longer than the .300Whisper. I don't have the number at my fingertip , but the true .300Whisper Chamber spec has a tight neck dia ( for inhanced accurccy ). The chamber dimentions of the various knockoffs ( .300Fireball, .30/221 , etc ) from any source other than SSK or T/C are whatever they may happen to be.

BenL: I am not sure how you are defining "cannot"? That has not been at all my experience and fired 100's of .300 BLK through my .300 Whisper with out one problem. Accuracy and cycling was perfect.

Maybe I have a chamber that will, as per MidCounty, will allow the variation.I called JD and rally could not get a straight answer. He said just to try it that a worst case scenario would be the neck getting jammed and a cycle failure.

In fact, the only time I have had an issue was with the Corbon .300 Whisper Rounds subsonic rounds.

300 Whisper is a proprietary version of the 300-221 Wildcat. 300-221 came before 300 Whisper(R), not after. Also, cartridge names (at least in SAAMI) never begin with a . So it is 300 BLK, not .300 BLK.
