    And are there any ranges that allow you to shoot targets like these? I don't know anyone around here with enough land

    I use ice a lot. You can fill paper drinking cups with water, freeze them, then remove the paper cup. They explode quite nicely. Zero clean up. I've also frozen water in some 5 gal buckets and hit them with a .308 that was fun.
    I also use old cans and plastic bottles. Our recycling can goes to the curb every two weeks with lots of cans and bottles with holes in them!
