A 22LR tubular magazine is still exempt from the limit, right?

    <edit> Oh, I guess that's what you meant by a Marlin 60 :) </edit>

I can't remember if it's been discussed... where do belt fed guns fall with respect to mag limits. More of an academic question for me, but was wondering.

Can't order or buy within the state of MD over 10 rounds. But legal to use/own any capacity.

Doesn't say anything about "within the state of MD".

    4–305. Detachable magazines -- Prohibited

    (a) This section does not apply to
    (1) a .22 caliber rifle with a tubular magazine

    (b) A person may not manufacture, sell, offer for sale, purchase, receive, or transfer a detachable magazine that has a capacity of more than 10 rounds of ammunition for a firearm.

A state's laws only apply within that state. Possession of the mags is not forbidden. Therefore, you may purchase detachable mags over 10 rounds where legal and bring them into the state.

I'm not sure what your point is.

It is Maryland law, therefore within MD.
Going to Virginia and buying mags is covered by Virginia law - and as such, there is no restriction in Virginia on buying magazines.

Maryland law does not mention possession or use, therefore those two activities are legal.

It may not say that, but the state's jurisdiction ends at the border.
So far possession is still legal,.....so far.
