Yeah, I had planned to change to a brake anyway (due to sb281, not any desire on my part....This thing'll be loud enough!).

Does SB281 set a minimum overall length for AOWS? or are pen guns and forward gripped pistols illegal now?
No minimum overall length, but if the AOW has a barrel less than 16" it needs to be on the handgun roster.

If anyone is interested, I FINALLY got my tax stamp yesterday on a Form 1 for a Sig P556. I got the pistol last summer, submitted to MSP in September, got that back in January and sent to BATFE, and got stamp yesterday. So now I can put the pistol upper on a rifle lower (on Sigs, the upper has the serial #, not the lower), and voila.
Oddly, no mention of "2 features". OAL is 30".
So do you have to go to the MSP to register the ar15 pistol first then fill out the form 1 once it is approved from MSP? I was just asking because I form 1 a lower this January and was disapproved even though the OAL was 29.5in. Reason was "md state law, assault weapon- prohibited, ar-15 imitation."
I just got denied on a form 1 efile SBR. 29.7" The reason was given as a "technical problem" but they don't explain. WTF.
"Reasons for disapproval"
"TECHNICAL PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED RECEIVING THE REQUEST, IF INTEREST REMAINS, WILL REQUIRE THAT YOU RE-APPLY, AS A TAX REFUND IS IN PROCESS. TEC 304-xxx-xxxx"
Comparing the denied form to my prior approved efile form 1 SBR forms its exactly the same except for the examiner name. Same uploaded trust info too. Ugh. Luckily, I'm not waiting to build this one just yet (have 2 projects ahead of it) so I guess I'll just reapply and see if their "technical problem" goes away. There is a phone # included that I'm wondering if I should call.
Shouldn't matter on a Form 1. No sale or transfer involved.
