Doesn't the shipper have to file the claim?
Assuming they got insurance, of course...
and you got pictures of the damage to the box if any, and all that good stuff.
It'll be fun to work out who gets the pay-off and who gets the damaged rifle.

this sucks, wish you the best of luck.

Roger that. Hope it works out for you, that looked like a nice rifle and it hurts to look at it just in a pic. Can't imagine up close and personal.

Well, it's got a pretty big stripe now unfortunately.
I like these military .22LR trainers, it was a good pick.

yeah this would have made my 3rd model 44 in the collection, it would be the second property marked model. i also have two model 144's that are also heavy barrel's and super accurate.

Walnut K-31 from SAMCO I ordered 2 weeks ago finally came in. Did the special select for $329. No sling or accessories. Might have been a bit on the high $$ end but Im happy. Gun is very very very nice. Not beat up, just a bit of wear on the metal and the import mark is under the cleaning rod and nearly invisible.

The well placed import mark is worth it.
Almost as good a the import mark on mine.
Mine was made by a monkey.

Is the Swiss cross cartouche visible on the butt?

Well, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Today, I did both.

First the loss. I overpaid for this M39 by about $125. The stock has a nice grain/color and has that BTDT look, but it isn't maker marked. The bluing on the rifle is about 20% (generous?). The bolt matches but everything else is scrubbed (faint number on the floor plate). There is a short hairline crack behind the receiver tang that looks old. The trigger is very nice and so is the sight picture. The bore is shiny and strong, and it came with a Finnish sling in very good condition. I'd say a $350 gun, max. Oh well. I will just put it in the back of the safe for a few years and let it appreciate.

Second is the win. An Eddystone M1917 made in September 1918 with an August 1918 barrel. All parts that I can see, including the stock and hand guard, are marked E except for the bolt handle, which is marked R over •64• and maybe the butt plate (can't make out the mark). The bore is mint. I think it's supposed to have a stacking swivel? The receiver is blued and the bolt is either blued or has a black park to it - it doesn't have that greenish-gray park I'm used to seeing on refurbs. The butt stock has RCAF and arrow, which I believe are Canadian property marks (not import marked), and what I assume is a unit or rack number, along with some other interesting marks, and the eagle head appears in two places. I don't know anything about these, so anything you can share (along with approx value) would be welcomed.
