Just got this from a member here today:

    The real money shot:

OEM stock, which we'll see how it works. I'm not crazy about the bipod, but we'll see how it works out once I clean up the stock's free-floating a bit more. I think there's enough room, but I haven't done anything but clean and lube the wear parts on the bolt yet. It still needs somewhere to call home in the safe.

    Update:

Just put 6 rounds through it. This thing is loud when the hammer falls, especially when the bullet hits the target. That might just be my perception, because I wasn't wearing any earplugs, was standing outside right next to the house, and it just got done raining. Actually, it's probably quieter than I think, because the location I was standing has a bit of an echo when you speak. My break barrel pellet gun is probably 10db louder. It's definitely hearing-safe, and even comfortable. Sounds like a staple gun. So, it's dead-quiet to squirrels, other than the impact and hammer, I don't hear anything.

Seller told me the scope was out of zero, but it was close enough at 25yd for me to hit quarter-sized hanging washers each time.

Action is smooth as butter. Nothing like my J.C. Higgins bolt action, nothing like a Remington 700, and it shares almost nothing with the feel of a mosin nagant. Nice big counterweighted handle, and trigger feel is pretty good, your standard accutrigger, not quite glass rod, but close.

BDC on the Nikon Prostaff BDC 3-9x40 is good, I can't try it further than 50yd. Glass is exceptional.

Bipod isn't bad, I hit the same number of 1" washers standing as I did resting the bipod on my deck's railing. I haven't tried anything smaller yet, I've gotta make some smaller reactive targets

Nice. Love my FVSR. If the factory stock ends up not being your thing, check out one of the Boyds stocks. I have the Tacticool on mine. Combined with my SS Sparrow and CCI Standards, its a real quiet tackdriver.

Yeah, 6 rounds isn't enough to tell, I'll put at least a box of ammo through it before I decide on a stock. I've never touched a Boyd's stock, but gsrcrxsi has one local on his mkii, so I'll have to link up with him.

It's stupid accurate, and fun because the action is so smooth. :D

Nice! Makes me want to take mine out for some fun. She's been feeling neglected recently, lol.

Finally shot it with the new stock. It's really nice. Easy to get the same cheek weld every time. The weight difference is noticeable, but not unbearable, it might actually help with stability when standing unsupported.

Interestingly enough, the areas of the stock that have a bit of oil from my face and hands is quite a bit darker. I'm thinking about wiping the stock with a lightly oiled rag to make it all uniform.
