You sicko. I got my deer stand up.

Really excited first time ever. With the assistance of daemon we were able to figure it all out and not fall. A bit of over kill have a safety line, lineman belt and a second attachment but hey I'm on the ground safely now.

    Getting ready for Monday hunt!!

    WHAT?

    No parachute.

And that's one mighty fine walnut tree.

Where exactly is that? I see handmade furniture in my future...

Jefferson. There are a ton of them around. The stand is at about 15' sitting down around 18' in the tree. Would have gone a little higher but the tree was slanted and I could not get the climbing sticks to "tilt".

Ok. Tell the truth. Terra firma is just out of the frame, right? Can't tell from pic, might invest in a prussic line if you don't already have one. It's full time security. Have fun and happy hunting!

    Lou lol.

Yea I have a safety line with a prusik rope attached. I also have a secondary line at the top to clip into. I felt 100% safe up there.

    15'??

Around here an open stand like that would need to be over 30' with brushy bits under it or all you'd get was snorts and a flash of white! Dumb things have been smarted up by Yahoo's that can't sit still .... grumble mumble mumble

Couldnt go any higher and that was the only tree with a good field of vision. I can sit still ive hunted from a natural ground blind and havent been spotted.

The other issue was the tree slants and the sticks could not connect any higher. I did not feel comfortable strapping the stick straight to the tree without any downward support.
