    I don't get why people keep talking about the xds like it's some new thing nobody's thought of before.

    I'm looking for a compact gun and I wouldn't say these are as comparable IMHO. The Glock 36 is a monster compared to the XDS in size. The Kahr is close, but I don't want a DAO pistol. If I'm going to look at DAO there are lots of smaller choices (at least in calipers I'm looking at).

    I'm actually looking forward to the 9mm XDS that shaves just a little more size off of the gun + keeps the firing system.

    Looks like .45 only from their provided info...but I thought that was the selling point

    That was my impression from everything I've read but iI thought jmcgoing might have read or know somthing I didn't.
