    Almost totally fruitless.

Also everyone needs to remember that in response to letters from Nate at Engage Armament (who is an attorney) the MSP has stated, in writing, that the list of firearms as banned or not banned on their site is NOT binding, and is merely "guidance" from the MSP. Anyone buying a firearm that may or may not be banned should consult the gun shop and or the manufacturer on that, according to the MSP.

So if the gun shop/mfr is unsure, who do they contact?

I know there is no right answer to any of these questions. That was the point of the law....

Well, of course, if the gun shop says the wrong thing, which can be interpreted by the MSP at a later point basically however they want, you'll get arrested anyway.

Hello, is the DPMS AR15 223/5.56 20 inch barrel length classic A2 or A3 banned in Maryland.
Is it advertised as having a "heavy barrel"? If not, then it is banned.

With very few exceptions, the only .223/5.55 AR15s legal to acquire in MD now are HBAR variant rifles and AR15 pistols.
