I got to thinking after testing my USPSA rig yesterday. I'm using a drop and offset holster for both my Limited Major and 3-gun pistols. I sat down to eat and the holster hit the arm rest on the chair. So this got me thinking. How do people shooting action shooting sports deal with scenarios of starting in car seats? I believe the bottom of the holster would bang around on the seat belt anchor. ???

I've done idpa stages seated in vehicles without any big issues, and of carried to and from home in same holsters in my vehicles.

not sure I remember any uspsa or 2/3 gun stages seated in cars, but I have driven from stage to stage sometimes and yes the limited/open holsters and guns do get in the way. not too much you can do about it other than taking time to make sure the holster/gun isn't so blocked or cramped that you'll damage your seat or holster or the gun will pop out. normally a little space in front of or behind the seat belt receptacle to use.

We had to sit in a jeep at Cavalier for one stage. I was using a thigh rig at the time, so it wasn't a problem. Since I switched to the SP-01 9mm for 3-gun, I'm using a drop/offset holster, which is why I'm asking. Tomorrow's 3-gun match at Quantico will be USPSA Multigun rules.

Tilt to the non-holster side to clear the seatbelt latch.

Just like you do when taking out your wallet..
