AS mentioned, attitudes can vary a lot. Their prices are high but the hour of free range time and the fact they don't charge a CC fee helps somewhat. They've gotten a lot better in the past year with the exception of Ziggy still being a horses ass to too many people. Lou, the RSO, has been helpful and Jay as well.

Andy was always a cool guy who worked at Continental. Always gave you good customer service and was pleasant. Hes in the Army now, and as far as im concerned when he left, most of the customer service went with him. Sometimes theyre ok tho.

Continental was the first indoor range I went to. I went there with my younger brother who is a bit of a goof ball, and I also brought my .22 rifle uncased (against their rules due to LEO)

They were awesome at the range. I went in talked to a bunch of people. When I approached the door an employee saw my rifle uncased and began to "be strict" with me. However I showed him the open action with the muzzle faced down and asked him if he would like to escort me inside while he transferred the rifle.

This was the RSO on duty I later found out.

His demeanor changed immediately when (in what my opinion) was demonstrating respect for the rule and safety by showing him an open action, etc.

My younger brother began cracking stupid jokes about guns and mental health as we filled out the form, I apologized to the staff, told him to STFU and get serious and told the staff I would be responsible for him.

I was impressed at the range, the many options of rentals, etc.

I spent $140 there renting 3 guns, 2 boxes of ammo for the rentals, 2 targets, full eyes and ears, and 2 1/5 hrs for 2 people.

    Great experience.

I still don't understand why people are willing to put up with dick behavior "until they get to know you". I went there twice for their abuse and will never go back. Fu*k them.

Started shooting at Continental purely out of convenience . . . I have since joined the range there (on the ‘family plan’ so my wife and sons can shoot anytime they want without paying the hourly fees) and we’ve all generally had good experiences. While it can get very busy, I’ve only had to wait for a lane more than 15 – 20 minutes one time in the last several years. It is a public range with lots of newbies and/or one-timers (some very expert, disciplined shooters too), but the few circumstances I have seen that might have been considered unsafe were dealt with promptly by the RSO.

I agree their prices would not be considered competitive by experienced firearms buyers, but that’s their call. They do keep a lot of inventory (firearms, ammunition, safes, and accessories) so that overhead would, I think, have some bearing on what they are charging.

I observe too that they regularly give space to an NRA volunteer that hands out literature and encourages people to join -and- when we were looking for help publicizing the Baltimore County Friends of NRA Banquet last month, they went out of their way to set up a table for us at the front entrance so everyone entering would see it.

I find it surprising that people have had a bad experience there. During the height of the frenzy, I went up there to see if they had an XDM 45 in stock - that was what I wanted, and since I had never been there I decided to give them a shot, just to see.

I had a very positive experience - the staff, while being slightly harried, was friendly and pleasant to work with, and that was part of the reason I decided to buy a consignment H&K USP there. Even with a packed store, they made sure to acknowledge that they knew I was there, and were very friendly chatting and answering questions about the gun I wound up buying.

They are far enough away that they aren't convenient, but I'm up close enough to that neck of the woods enough that they'll get my business again at some point in the future, even if it's just for small stuff like powder, holsters, cleaning supplies, etc.

I go there because they're about 3 minutes from my house. Freestate is half an hour, depending on traffic. AGC is about the same. I can spend an hour at the range at Continental and still get other stuff done on the weekend. Days off don't come easy for me. My attitude would be different if they'd ever been outright rude to me, but they haven't. YMMV.

They did two of my transfers. They were VERY helpful in getting both submitted as a pair and saving me additional wait time.

As for the range, it's the only range I've been to, but I've never had a problem. The folks up front usually nod and say hi as I walk back to the range. The range folks take my card and give me targets and ammo without any hassle.

The only thing a RSO has ever said was a gentle reminder that they require you unpack your gun/ammo in the booth, not at the window shelf.

The only downside is that the range itself can be a bit hot and is a bit dark.

But after my shooting yesterday, I don't care...first 5 rounds I shot at 25' after being on vacation and not shooting for 2 weeks:

If only I hadn't pushed that last shot down. :)

Place is at the bottom of my list as far as shooting. Prices seemed a bit high last time I was there looking at guns. Good selection though... Granted this was before the mad rush so I have no idea what it is like there now. Didn't particularly like the attitudes there either but whatever. I'm originally from Jersey so it felt like home...

Yeah, they can be rather pricey on most things. BUT, they do have a selection of items that I have not seen anywhere else. And they had at one time ( as many others have had also :-) a pretty decent selection of ammo. I bought 16 x 100 packs of CCI Mini Mags there about 4 mo's ago. No more....sniff sniff :-(. And it was like $8.99 per.

When Jamie is there ( not often, as he is the gunsmith at their other store in ownings mills ) he is a GREAT guy to deal with. Friendly, helpful...knows his stuff.

One thing that DID amaze me, was about 4 mo's ago, right in the middle of the craziness, they had a S & W 5.45 x 39 upper, just sitting there all by itself. And the price..w BCG....$475!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Now, when I had a full time job :-), and not just a part time job, at that price, I could buy a couple and not feel a pinch, but NOW, that is ALOT for me to come up with on something other than a bill. But, they let me put half down, and come back the next day ( a sunday ) and pay the other half and take it. I checked that night, and they were going for a minimum of $925 on GB.COM... I could have almost doubled my money in one day....hahahah but, I had been thinking of building one from the year before, just due to the price of AR ammo, even before all this BS. I then picked up a spam can of 1080 rounds for $189 + $25 shipping from Aimsurplus. Like 20 cents a round!!

But, I was not able to shoot it for almost 3 months, as they only make 30 rnd magazines for it, and, well, you all know the deal with them in MD. And the 2 I finally did end up getting out of state, cost me about $115 !!!!! :-( I think now, they are back to like $14-17 a mag.

So, generally, unless they negotiate a price with you, they are fairly high, but, if you cannot find it anywhere else, or just go to have it :-). And every once in awhile, you may find a decent deal. I like stopping in just because they have a decent selection of everything. New, used, handguns, rifles, a few Mil-surp, powder, primers, cleaning supplies, holsters, cases, etc etc.

$485 each for stripped adcor lowers!!
Billet lowers. But they can be high on a lot of stuff and reasonable on others so all in all not too crazy price wise for the most part.Always a good selection. Ziggy's still a jerk but they have him in a small room up front now. Just wish they had the same shooting shelves, cubby holes that Free State has. Only a mile form my house but I belong to Free Sate as the hours are better for me.

I made my first handgun purchase with them in February. I paid a little more for my Sig then I should have, but I didn't mind that much since it was during the height of the panic and they were one of the few places that I could find a handgun that I wanted. The staff was helpful even though they were busy, and make my first paperwork process pain free. They told me I would have to call them to find out about my paperwork which kind of bugged me. Since I ended up waiting a lot longer than they originally thought I would, I would call pretty frequently and they were always courteous over the phone. When my paperwork did come back, they actually gave me a call as soon as the store opened and threw in the bore lock for no charge. I would buy from them again if they were doing 8th day release, but 01 Oct is quickly approaching.

Shot there yesterday. Great time shooting. All the employees were nice. However I saw several non panic affected firearms, at prices $500 above MSRP and regular price. They did have an M82 Barrett there for $12,500 but xxnitroxx wouldnt go for it. Hahaha

I agree. I bought a POF lower from them many years ago at a gun show, the young guy who sold it to me was pretty cool and explained who POF was and the merits of the billet lower to me as they were a new thing and I had never seen one. Two weeks later when I came to pick up the folks manning the counter were complete assholes. I'm not sure what the guy before me said or did but they asked him to leave and then treated me like crap.
