  • Greetings,

Big Brown made another delivery that fills a hole in my collection. It's a U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1903 Mark I. The serial number puts the year of manufacture at 1919 and it has a 8-19 SA barrel. It's in great condition and I'm looking forward to taking it to the range.

Don't know a good one from a bad one but, that looks nice. Look real good with a unertl 10x scope on top.

A M1903 Mark I was my first rifle and I thoroughly enjoy shooting it. Yours appears to be a nice rebuild and should be quite a fun rifle at the range.

You appear to have the original barrel, stock, cutoff and spindle. Very interesting. Take a picture of the trigger and sear to see if you have the correct mk one sear.

Also bolt markings to see if you have the original bolt. A mk I with original parts is extremely uncommon.

    Very nice

What should the proper bolt markings be?

I need to see if I can find some pictures of one.

let me ask a friend, I'm horrible at describing the features appropriately.

You have the correct cutoff. I'd be willing to be you have the right sear and trigger as well.
