This! I don't think I ever shot an HK rifle (91 or 93) that didn't put a huge crimp in the case mouth and a ding on the side of the spent shell casing. ..

I agree... steel case or brass case makes no difference.

I never tried steel cased but it certainly covered my right flank with everything else I tried.

Can't go wrong with 7.62 NATO from Walmart.
Those rifles are absolutely HELL on spent casings though.

Quality rifles are ammunition insensitive. If you have to worry about what you are feeding it, you have the wrong rifle.

The cheapest ammo, I usually use the white box 16.00 once fired ammo due to the fact mine destroys the brass and save the nice stuff for my 700.

The only ammo that it is not recommended is plastic brass rounds due to the delayed blow back system that causes the racing stripes on the brass.

Wide hand guards
Better recoil pad (HK)
Metal lower received instead of black plastic
Rail
Duracoated new wide hand guard, original narrow hand guard, and butt stock the same color of OD green so they match. The new wide hand guard was a really ugly green. And the GI surplus butt stock looked beat up.
