Since I have never seen or heard of McDonalds approving the use of security guards I am betting he was just in there to eat also. Perp was likely surprised to find someone armed in the restaurant and made a snap bad judgement.

Not just in Baltimore. I have seen security guards in McDonald's in several major cities including DC and Richmond.

yeah I've seen armed security guards at McDonalds in PG county as well. I dont think they ever hire them for the day though, only at night. Esp for the ones that stay open very late
