Due to the cost and availability of .22LR ammo, I've recently been considering a new air gun for plinking. I want something powerful and was looking at few made by Air Force, but they're really expensive and would require a scuba tank or similar, which is also very expensive.

So, I recently discovered the Benjamin "Armada".
Still expensive but also very powerful and I would only really need to buy a hand pump.

    Thoughts?
    Does anyone here own one?

It is the same as a marauder just with a stock that doubles the price. If what it looks like is more important than the money, go for it. I would suggest getting a .25 though.

I had thought they had found and fixed the inaccuracy issues of the .22's but I bought a new gen 2 a few months ago and it wouldn't group, more like patterns.

Swapped it out for a .25 and in mild wind it will shoot 1 3/8" groups at 100 yds.

You can hand pump to 3000 psi but it's not much fun. If your "plinking" you are going to want a decent supply of compressed air. There are several options to avoid hand pumping, just depends on how much you want to spend and how much you want to shoot.
