Isn't there a drag strip in Crofton/Odenton area?

Yep, it's called Capitol Raceway; any chance this could be the source of the distant roaring sound?

I don't think so, you can tell the difference between gas / alcohol / rice burners and sometimes hear the announcer. not sure they allow the jet driven cars any longer, they used to rumble.

sounds like the Confederate air force they have a B17 and various fighters. they fly around to different air shows.
