SR-556 Vs LWRC M6.
I know LWRC is considered the best piston driven AR out there, but what are the thoughts about the ruger SR-556? Have these had any issues with carrier tilt that hasnt been resolved? would the PWS buffer tube be a good addon to this rifle? If they have carrier tilt, will ruger fix them?

Every Ruger 556 I have seen has carrier tilt. Ruger also uses unshrouded BCG's too.
To improve it to be on par with LWRC you would have to replace the Bolt Carrier with something compatible (Not sure if its possible?), add a PWS tube, Rounded Hammer, better Buffer, then its a "maybe" IMO. Probably pay more to upgrade a 556 than buying a LWRC. __________________ Please Donate to MDS: http://www.mdshooters.com/donate/ Please Join or Donate to MSI: http://marylandshallissue.org/spring-2013-fund-drive/ "Lord, make me fast and accurate. Devils advocate, which is better, the SIG 556 or the LWRC?

I think most people would agree the LWRC...it has a powerful name backing it. I can only speak for my M6A1-s and it has been 100% since day 1.

I would prefer the 556, but I think both would serve you well.
Im about to get a 556 SBR after the holidays. I have no desire to own a Piston AR. __________________ Please Donate to MDS: http://www.mdshooters.com/donate/ Please Join or Donate to MSI: http://marylandshallissue.org/spring-2013-fund-drive/ "Lord, make me fast and accurate. Adding my experiences with my piston driven AR.
I have a Stag 8L with about 500 rounds through it. No signs of carrier tilt. Haven't upgraded anything other than getting a POF cam roller pin. My upper receiver was showing some wear, but I attribute that to normal usage. Machined parts rubbing on each other will show wear etc. __________________ "Ua mau ke ea o ka ʻāina i ka pono" |

LWRC hands down from what I've seen.
The SIG 556s are cool, I'm definitely considering buying a pistol to SBR down the road. __________________ "God created men, Sam Colt made them equal..." |

They're cool and they have a buffer tube that prevents carrier tilt.
I was thinking of getting their diablo upper. __________________ "That the said Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms ...
