Public land for squirrel in central Maryland

I have started hunting tree rats this year and am testing some of the public hunting areas in Cecil county. I live in Baltimore county. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good public hunting spots for squirrels. Thanks.

I am new to the forum and have mainly been hanging out enjoying everyones posts.

Yeah, I have been all over the DNR website. I was hoping maybe someone with some experience in these areas could point me to a good one close to home. So far I have tried Ell Forest, and Wech Point in Cecil county. Thanks.

Towson University campus. Just kick a trashcan- 15 will come flying out.

Do you guys eat what you shoot, or just consider it "varmint hunting"?

I made tree rat pot pie a few weeks ago with my loot and took it to work. I got a dozen people to eat it and all of them loved it. Does not taste like chicken!

I used a 12 guage with some bird shot. I don't remember exactly what I used--I was also up there hunting doves so 2 or 3 probably. You can't hunt with rifles in Maryland except for in the mountain counties.

Of course I ate them! I personally wouldn't kill anything I didn't intend to eat or otherwise use. I honey brined them and then grilled. Very tasty!

The pie idea sounds great. Maybe I'll try that next time.
