Looks like they do a "group buy" for lead free ammo. Not sure how much that will ease the pain. I was told we should get the pistol range twice a month (hopefully), next year. After Thanksgiving, they will post the range schedule on their web site. The range is closed during hunting season...

I understand it's like 10AM the morning of the 1st Tuesday of every month, and lasts about an hour.

Yeah, the base gets first dibs on all ranges, its their house. The club gets a six-month schedule ahead of time for "confirmed" weekend range dates. Some range dates have been canceled due to lack of available range officers to sign for the range.

The weekday range dates are as-available, on short notice, and never get posted on the website due to logistical issues (would never be up in time). Members basically have to call Range Control and see what is available. This is the method that the Mead "Rifle & Pistol" Club (the restricted membership club) uses to get range time.

One member has stepped up to organize a group buy on lead free handgun ammo from frangiblebullets.com. Members are still free to shop around and buy lead free ammo from wherever they want. The club also has a whole reloading setup that never gets used. And the lead-free requirement is only for the 25yd handgun ranges if you don't want to shoot .22lr using the club's bullet traps. If the club has the 300yd and 600 yard ranges then members can shoot lead handgun ammo on THOSE ranges.

Close. I called Range Control today. It's the second Tuesday at 10am. There's one tomorrow, I won't be able to make it. Anyone else that wants to, go for it. Dude told me it was not reserved, you just have to show up for the class.

The second Tuesday of each month. I will be attending next months class, if its easier to meet somewhere prior to the class, I can do that if people need to follow me to the range control building.
