Got my P64 yesterday and gave it a good clean, today went to range. Indeed recoil is very snappy and painful to the hand. Need to order 22# recoil spring. Here are some pictures.

Call them tomorrow....I had the chance to clean out all the cosmoline in mine on Fri and its a nice little pistol. I inspected all the parts and its a quality made pistol!!!!! We paid $194 OTD with transfer.

What is the next group buy for a smiliar pistol.....Yugo Tokarev group buy (not C&R)??

Nice looking P64, Akalma (almost as nice as mine!). Thanks for the very good pictures. I don't expect to be able to pick up mine until Saturday. I'll post a picture when I get it.

I did order the Wolff 22 pound recoil spring and the 18 pound hammer spring. They should arrive tomorrow, I expect.

Actually, I'm surprised Jim got the paperwork back on these already, or did he?

By the way, thank you Jim for handling this transfer. Although it's about an hour drive for me one way, I will definately keep you in mind for future transfers, as well as any engraving.

And thank you FPS for instigating this. So, how much are those Yugo Toks? And how about a group buy on Bulgarian Makarovs? Any interest out there? They make great stocking stuffers, what with Christmas coming!

Right now I haven't seen a bargain for a group buy. SOG has the following

C&R Romanian $195
C&R Polish $189
Non C&R Yugo $214

there are no multiple discounts for these.

I've considered the Group Buy on the Bulgarian Makarov's too but i don't know if they are on the MSP Roster. The ones on the roster are marked Arsenal not all of them are marked. I don't know how we can guarentee getting them pre-85/exempt even if handpicked. THey are $275 and no discount. Still a good price for Bulgie Maks. They also have the FEG PA-63 @ $174 handpicked but no additional discounts.

Yea....HarEngSer has been great from start to finish!!!! He quick to get back with me and he puts up with me and my many inquires I can be a PITA at times

If you have any ideas up open to them

Sounds like there's enough interest for a second group buy on P64s. One's enough for me, though.

I have two Bulgarians. Neither one has "Arsenal" mark. There were no problems with transfer of either of them in MD: one from local shop, another one from the Internet. In fact, all Bulgarian Makarovs are produced by Arsenal.

Its accuracy is amazing. Last time I made a single hole of about .45" in diameter at 10yds shooting 3 magazines in a row through one of the Maks. This was from the rest with carefully reloaded ammo to match chamber and bore. Fixed barrel, no forcing cone, symmetrical barrel, and thin sights - all contribute to an excellent bullseye potential of the gun.

THe problem I would see is receiving a Bulgie that's post 84 and not on the roster. The Circle 10 (non civilian) are made b/n the 70-late 80's or 90's but not marked. I don't know if it would be accepted by MSP. If you can find a Circle 10 with the date codes 1970-1984 you're GTG

how would they know? and why would they care??? use the pistol in an appropriate manner and no reason for MSP to cause a problem

Then I would say its up to your FFL who is filling out the 77R. I wouldn't give a crap, i just want my gun. If you're FFL is willing to fill out the application and leaving the "make" blank, thats on them. Or if you can fill out "Bulgarian" as a make....I don't know I'm not an FFL?

Both mine are Circle 10.

MD handgun roster has
Arsenal (Bulgaria) Makarov 9X18 MM, .380 ACP

There is no indication on the years or the circle. Why do you think that the 10 makes the gun different?

My understanding is the civilian Bulgarian have the Arsenal name on it while the military/police production has the circle 10. Arsenal Maks are on the roster. My Bulgie is a Circle 10, not Arsenal marked and mfg in 1982.

Can i get pics of your Mak...maybe we need to start a Makarov (and variants) Porn thread

Good luck on getting your 001. LMK how it goes, I always wondered about it for those who don't have a storefront.

Sorry, I still did not get your point. Which Bulgarian Mak do you think is not listed in MD roster?

Sorry, I will not post pics of my Maks on any thread with nasty words. Please, be polite starting the thread. Anyway, both guns have custom-made grips to hold brasscatchers - 9x18 brass is worth catching.
